John Egglesfield

I studied drawing and painting, graphics and photography in the 1960s ... lived in Central Africa for three years in the 1970s ... and spent some 20 years as a designer and art director in London advertising agencies and design groups, working for clients such as BP, British Telecom and ICI.

During the 1990s I ran my own design consultancy, specialising in work for performing arts organisations.

Now ... with time to spend on my two loves of travel and painting I find the more I travel the more I see, and the more I see the more ideas I get.

My most recent work involves linking hard, natural materials like slate and sand to the tradition of painting on canvas or paper, to create images of landscape, history and loss.
